'Try Synchro' a Great Success!

During March, we joined in with other Synchro Clubs from across Ontario , with the goal of increasing the awareness of our wonderful sport. For Newmarket Synchro, our target market was Upper York Region. What a GREAT success we had and we are thrilled with our initial efforts. Many thanks go out to the Towns of Aurora, Georgina and Newmarket for participating with us in this wonderful AWARENESS of SYNCHRO opportunity. Much appreciation also goes out to Synchro Ontario for responding to our requests of more posters, invitations, balloons and time, and also to the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation, for providing funding to enable the events to happen.

Like planning for a major theme party, there was so much excitement and balloons in the air..the volunteer parents, the coaches, and most of all our athletes, were definitely all thrilled to be a small part of showing off to the world what an amazing and wonderful sport Synchronized Swimming truly is!!! Thanks goes out to all who came out to help.

After a swim exhibition at each location, we had our swimmers in the water, hands-on demonstrating some of the tricks of synchro. The participants were then taught a short routine, which they land drilled and practiced, until it was their turn to put on a show. for their families, friends, coaches and lifeguards.and what a great job they did. Congratulations to all the fine young athletes who had a first hand at 'TRY SYNCHRO'. Newmarket synchro welcomed three new Recreational Intro to Synchro Teams to our existing programs as a result of this month of awareness. We certainly look forward to seeing their progress in just 8 short weeks at our May 1 st Watershow!
