To All Swimmers, Coaches, Members and Honoured Guests ,
One more note about the Winter Wonderland Watershow. This one is not however, an email, instructions, reminders or a request for volunteer hours, or food, or money, or gifts. This will actually require you to do nothing more than perhaps read and reflect, and feel very proud about the wonderful event that each and every one of you helped turn into a true Wonderland.
First, there are so many thank you's, many that remained unspoken during and after the show, that cannot go unannounced, so on behalf of the club, one last sincere note of appreciation and acknowledgement that it could not have been done without YOU!!
Anne Marie Gelinas ( Carlin Jessop - Tier 2), although announced and thanked a million times, Anne Marie is truly amazing! As the event coordinator for this watershow, Anne Marie spent several weeks planning perfection, and captured the true spirit of the season and succeeded in putting the focus so perfectly on, our swimmers and our coaches. She delivered with your help, a wonderland presentation, from the set up of the room, to the grand entrance of Santa (and yes of course...Santa really is a female), to having each swimmer be individually recognized and photographed after receiving a gift...and the delivery was flawless. Drew Zeran was a big hit in the Party Room as he MC'd the party throughout the evening, led the games and singalongs and sat Santa on his knee for a great photo op! Santa was so impressed, that she has booked Drew in advance, for a repeat performance at next year's party. The event fundraisers were incredible and the collection of food bank donations was 4 big boxes to be proud of. The spectacular Water Show with our very own on deck MC, Derek Pulchinski , was awesome. From the moment of the athlete's entry, the sea of red suits on deck, to the evolving routines, ending in the brilliance of our very own, lit Christmas tree. a sight of real beauty to behold. From start to finish, a perfect 10...for your time, expertise, meticulous planning and wonderful sense of humour...thank you Anne Marie. Our gratitude is endless.
Gabriella Craparotta (Natalie - Tier 3) - Have you ever seen a more beautiful display of baskets??? We graciously accepted so many generous donations from all our parents for their Team Baskets, and had mountains of cardboard boxes filled with 'stuff' when we delivered them to Gabriella's on Thursday.
When we returned on Saturday to drop off a few additions...the transformation of the 'stuff', was incredible, and after watching Gabriella set up the tables for the end result that you all witnessed on Sunday, the total effect was pure magic!! When Gabriella announced that she believed it was all in the presentation, she brought new meaning to the term, and gave us a display that was worthy of a most honourable gratitude. I erroneously left out thanking Gabriella at the Watershow (I am so sorry!), for her many hours and contributions of the baskets and all the beautiful packaging supplies. It was a true labour of love. For her donation of a corporate sponsor's gift basket from YSL, more thank you's. And lastly, for her genuine creative flair and drive to set goals outside of reach, and succeed, in great part as a result of 'presentation'...a heartfelt thank you. And to our generous supporters who all appreciated the beauty of the delivery and the true value of each basket, we extend a world of thanks. To the many local businesses including Chimes, Dawson's Manor, Sormeh, and Speedo who so kindly donated beautiful additions to our silent auction and baskets.a world of thanks.
Team Parents (All Teams) - You are, each and every one of you, worth your weight in Gold! You came together as a group and became an indispensable resource for Anne Marie in making all the pieces fit so perfectly. You ensured that there was a Secret Santa's gift for everyone, you took care of the food requirements and you coordinated the efforts of your respective teams to help make this, such a memorable day. From your teams, and the entire Club.Thank You.
Volunteers - So many parents, siblings and friends came together this season and joined as one to make this event the huge success that it was. The names are too many to mention, but the gratitude felt is still the same. You each know who you are, and we cannot say enough to let you know that your involvement and participation is a true testament to the many wonderful families we have in our Club this year. You define synergy at its ultimate. "n : the working together of two or more people/things to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects." A sincere thank you!
Parents and Guests - Another record breaking event with over 250 guests at the Watershows, bringing the total attendance to over 300. Your response was so overwhelming, that we needed two shows in order to accommodate all of you. Thank you for your wonderful support of our fine young athletes, and your lively applause and cheering for our routines. You are great, and we look forward with great anticipation to seeing you all again at our year end Watershow. To the staff at the Ray Twinney Complex, who set up for the event exactly as requested, and joined in the support of our swimmers, thank you.
Coaches - Newmarket Synchro has the most amazing coaches in the world this season!!! Coaches Danielle, Jennifer, Kendra, Laura, Lauren, Sarah and last but not least, the greatest, Head Coach MJ , have worked very hard so far in selecting their music, creating and choreographing their routines, and teaching all those figures. They have spent many, many hours, both in and out of the pool, making sure that they help each and every swimmer strive for excellence, and achieve their very best. They are caring yet strict, they are demanding yet so much fun, and most of all, they expect no more than they are willing to give, and they give it their all. And for many of them, after their coaching work is done for the day, they then jump in and give back to this wonderful sport even more.five of our coaches continue to swim, and make up part of our Tier 6/7 Combo Team, together with several other swimmers coached by who else. but MJ.and are they not awesome!!! Both in the water and on deck, these ladies are nothing but THE BEST!
Swimmers - Just shy of 60 swimmers, an all time high.You all make us so very proud and you are why we are all here! So many brand new athletes have joined our Club this season, and so many of our athletes are making big waves .and headlines for Newmarket Synchro. Six days a week we keep the Aquadome a busy place.and we are mesmerized by your wonderful results. The feedback from everyone we heard from is unanimous.they loved the watershow, and your grand finale will be tough to ever match again. You succeeded, team by team, with your amazing routines, to turn the Watershow into a true Wonderland. You have all worked hard in learning your routines thus far, and we can hardly wait to see the continuing magic unfold. Each and every one of you is a credit to this great club of ours and we truly are a better place because of you!!! We are because of you. Keep Smiling and keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
