January 2006 .Like the birth of a new star,
a new age emerges and NEWMARKET SYNCHRONIZED SWIM CLUB gives rise to its successor.

YORK SYNCHRONIZED SWIM CLUB

The evolution of a small suburban community synchro club, north of the big city, has taken on a new life form. As the growth in membership of Newmarket Synchro showed the signs of expansion beyond the borders of the town of Newmarket , the need to evolve our name to better represent our membership became apparent. York Region is one of the fastest growing regions in the province and York Synchro is following the lead and becoming one of Synchro Ontario 's fastest growing member clubs.

We are honoured and proud to move forward having selected the name of a region that is the "destination of choice in the Greater Toronto Area". We will strive to aim high to follow suit to become the synchro destination of choice for the ever growing number of fine young athletes and build YORK SYNCHRO to be bigger, bolder and brighter than ever. Our athletes will become an ever growing contingent of young new ambassadors for our region and the towns that our members so proudly represent.

Our Club now proudly boasts over 80 members and we are also in the process of introducing and promoting a new series of 10 week "INTRO TO SYNCHRO" programs, at Newmarket 's Aqua Center and at the brand new Town of Aurora Recreation Centre . These programs will help grow the awareness of both our Club and the beautiful team sport of synchronized swimming. YORK SYNCHRO offers programs, both competitive and recreational to all ages and has achieved great successes on all fronts. This competition season, which is just beginning, has already brought home many team and personal bests, and the best is yet to come.

YORK SYNCHRO eagerly looks forward to stepping out and presenting to the world all of our bright shining stars.our athletes. They are the best and we are forever proud of them for their commitment, dedication, hard work and their many accomplishments: Past, Present and Future!! May the 2006 Games Begin!!
